at home.

So I had to stay home today. I HATE having to use one of my precious maternity leave days for a sick day, but I really didn't have much of a choice. Last night, I threw up before dinner and then couldn't eat a darn thing. All night long, my stomach hurt so bad that I couldn't sleep. It almost feels like there's a knot in my stomach. I got a whole hour of sleep I think, and didn't feel any better this morning so I stayed home. I called our doctor's nurse and she said to try some Zantac. So I went to get some (even though laying down feels better than standing up) and we'll see if that helps. If not, I'll be visiting our clinic in town tomorrow to see what else it could be. I really wish we lived near an OB so I could just go in for an appt when I need one!!

Hooray for medicine!

After having horrible morning-afternoon-evening-night sickness for the past week or so, I called our doctor to beg for something to help me out. I wasn't sure if he'd call a prescription in for me since we haven't seen him yet, but he did. I'm taking some Metoclopram now, and what a world of difference! I can function again!!

Ahhh- so comfy.

I can no longer fit into most of my regular pants. I'm not kidding. 7 weeks tomorrow and I already am too big for my regular pants. We went to Motherhood this weekend where I was able to find a pair of maternity jeans and a pair of maternity khakis, so those are now in my closet! I wore the jeans yesterday and was so comfortable all day- no more digging waist bands! Waist bands that dig into your belly really HURT and make me want to throw up!! I wore some maternity black dress pants to school today and could really notice a difference in comfort while sitting on the ground with my elementary students!

I haven't thrown up in 2 days but this constant stomach ache is going to kill me. Saturday was NOT a good day. Josh was gone all day in Baggs for a middle school girls' basketball tournament and when he got home, I told him I'm pretty sure the baby hates me. I was sick, sick, sick. And I'm not feeling too great right now either so I think I'll go lay down.

Adios,
Kara

Throwing up is fun.

NOT. Luckily, it's so far been contained to first thing in the morning. The constant stomach ache all day long though is getting really old!

It's freezing cold here- 3 degrees right now. We didn't get as much snow as everyone else did though. We only got a couple inches.

Valentine's Day was fun- Josh sent a dozen roses to the meeting we both had to attend on Tuesday. Then we had our first date in 2 months. We ate at the Saratoga Inn. I had the same meal I did 2 months ago, but this time it tasted a LOT different to me. My taste buds must be changing! It was nice to have a date though. And there was a cute older couple at the table next to us. They must just be engaged, but the lady said, "What's your favorite item in my house?" The man, without even pausing, said, "You." How cute. :)

Sick.

So I was hoping my sickness would stay evening sickness. However, yesterday after a bad night of sleep, I felt awful all day long. That was not a good feeling. I don't mind the fact that I'm sick, because the more sick you are, the less chance of miscarriage you have, but the feeling isn't very nice!!

I feel much better today after a good night's sleep. My stomach still hurts a little but I think it's because it wants some more of the toast it had for breakfast! I did however, throw up for the first time this morning. I felt better immediately afterwards though.

Note to anyone reading this: Do NOT let me hear you hock a loogey, because that's what made me sick this morning.

On a sad note, my friend has the most beautiful little girl that was born 10 months ago with Downs Syndrome. Things were starting too look up for her, health-wise, until they got an abnormal blood test back this week. They went to get some tests done today to see if the poor baby has Lukemia. Please keep my friend and her precious baby in your prayers.

Evening Sickness

I think my sickness is setting in. Yesterday and today, around 3:00, I get a really sick feeling. And completely exhausted at that time too. Tonight I had to concentrate on not throwing up. I decided that 3:00 is a great time to be sick though- I'm done with school for the day, I can go home, put on my sweats, and do nothing all evening long. It's MUCH better than puking at school! (Knock on wood- I hope that doesn't happen!) Here's hoping that if this is my sickness, it will stay evening sickness!!

Too Tight

So I got dressed this morning and found out that the first pair of pants I put on are already too tight! They were not loose to begin with, but I could hardly breathe when I buttoned them up this morning. So they are going in the box to save for a year from now. Luckily, I have some bigger dress pants I can wear! This weekend, we found some good sales and I bought two pairs of maternity pants, because I KNOW that some morning, I will wake up and NOTHING in my closet will fit. Now I have an emergency outfit. :)

I also let my principal know today that I'll be needing some time off in October. And I told one of our teachers, because I knew she'd tell everyone for me. Sure enough, she was walking down the hall going, "Did you hear that Mrs. Sandlian is having a baby?" :)

HOLY MOLY!!

So our journey with infertility has ended for a while. On Friday, Feb. 3, we found out we are pregnant! Holy moly, what a shock! We are super excited though. After the doctor confimed it by charging me $80 to pee in a cup (even though I already had, that morning, with the kit that cost $13 at Wal-mart!) we started calling our families. It's all very exciting! Baby Sandlian is due October 12, 2006.

This is a picture taken the day we found out, as you can see, I'm just a tad bit bloated. That is quite some belly for a normally-skinny me! (If you click on the picture, you get an even fatter version!!) Starting weight: 122.
